Photoshop

Until now I resisted joining the 'Photoshop Family'!  I did buy an older version of Elements and even installed it on my pc, but would open it up, panic at the sight of so many functions, and then go back to Serif CraftArtist 2 Professional (which has most of the options, but is much more craft-friendly).  Then I saw a link to a course on E-scape and Scrap.  It caught my eye and I investigated further.  Within minutes I had signed up.

This course is - Photoshop Artistry

I have been following it for a couple of weeks and it is FABULOUS.  The videos are easy to watch, the free bonus content is worth far more than the cost of the course alone (and more is being added all the time) and, more importantly, I am really enjoying the challenge.  I am taking even more photos with my mobile phone (I will make an effort to use a 'real' camera one day!) - who knew that old concrete could be so fascinating?! - using my photos and even subscribed to a Photoshop magazine.

I still go to CraftArtist 2 Professional when I want to design a card or other quick project - and now with my more educated eye I can see that it offers far more than what I have used it for already (layers and everything!).  I will continue to use both, as for me they both have a place in my craft room.

This is one of the first pieces of 'coursework' that I have produced.  A combination of a photo, vector, textures, filters and blends.  (Now I know what a vector is!)

New Samples

Now if I could spend all day in my craft room, this would be a much quicker process, but here finally are the next 2 Sample Sheets.  Some gorgeous doilies, frames, a lace card and a sweet Wedding Bells design.

Sample Sheets

I am finally getting myself organised and produced my first Sample Sheet early this morning.  It shows some of the card designs I can cut out - and also a lovely Doily, which would be fabulous for any papercraft project.

I also show a sheet of 'Wedding Words' that I cut out recently for a new client.  Perfect for cards or scrapbooking.

More samples coming soon!

How rude

Sorry for the delay in getting a new post actually onto your screens - blogging seems to have taken a backstep in my life recently.

I have always been a little bit addicted to fonts - recently this has become more of an obsession, and my collection is growing a lot since being introduced to Dafont.com

You can literally spend hours on there - I try to limit myself to a few minutes each day!

And now for my usual picture .....

This is my first completed scrapbook page for the Wacky Wednesday weekly challenge over at GottaPixel.  Every Wednesday you are given a list of additions and by the end of the month you have a completed page.  Perfect for complete beginners like me.

I have joined their Pixel Club, which means I do not have to download the Free Daily Download every day, as it is sent out in one zip file.  There are also lots of special free downloads for Club members.

The Challenges have meant that I have finally started some scrapbooking (been talking about it for years).

Here is my very first LO -

I used the 'Cute Daisies 2' bundle by Kathryn Estry.
